* Teams are placed into divisions within one of the following categories - Junior (ages 18 and under), Adult (ages 19 and over), and Top Gun (most experienced). (Note: Adult Top Gun players are required to complete a Player Profile Form, and submit it with his/her registration form or when signing-in on event day.)
* Identification and proof of age will be required. Inaccurate or false information on registration form is grounds for team disqualification.
* As a general rule, Adult teams are matched into divisions according to the average age, height and playing experience of all players. Most divisions will have between 10-16 teams.
* Teams are guaranteed a minimum of three SCHEDULED GAMES. HOOPS is a Double Elimination tournament with a bracket called THE CONSOLATION BOWL for teams losing their first two games.
* Teams consist of 3, 4 or 5 players, three starters and one substitute. Games will be played on half court.
* GAME TIME IS FORFEIT TIME! Teams not at their courts at required time will automatically lose that game.
* A standard goal is worth one point and baskets made from behind the two-point line count for 2 points. First team to 15 points, by at least two points, WIN; OR first team to 20 points OR team ahead after 30 minutes, WINS. Possession will change after each made basket.
* IN THE ADULT DIVISIONS players call their own fouls and violations. A HOOPS Official will be on each court to maintain law and order and in some cases if needed, they will also call fouls and violations.
* IN THE JUNIOR DIVISIONS, all fouls and violations will be called by a HOOPS Official.
* TOP MEN'S AND WOMEN'S games will be called similar to a college game by a registered official.
* HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE players are responsible for their eligibility for the event. Because rules governing eligibility vary, HOOPS suggests all players check with their coach/athletic directors first.
* HOOPS reserves the right to eject players, teams or fans from games or the entire tournament for any misconduct during the event.
ATTENTION JUNIOR TEAMS:
We will be placing your teams into pre-established age categories as follows:
8-9, 10 & UNDER, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, & 17-18 years of age.
To ensure proper placement of your team, please make sure that all four (4) players fit within the established age category. If a player does not meet the age requirement, your team will be placed in to the category of your oldest player. Every effort will be made to place teams into these age categories, however, HOOPS reserves the right to alter the age categories or combine age categories at it's discretion.
